Let’s Talk About Detoxing — the Spiritual Kind
Let’s talk about detoxing.
Not the kind that focuses on cleansing your body from sugar, caffeine, or processed foods — but the kind that cleanses your soul.
The detox that no one talks about.
This is the detox from everything outside of yourself — the voices, opinions, and energies that have shaped your reality for far too long. It’s the purification that begins when you stop seeking validation, stop chasing distractions, and start turning inward for your own divine truth.
Because deep down, your inner being already holds the answers you’ve been searching for.
It’s just that the noise of the outside world — the expectations, the projections, the chaos — has made it hard to hear.
But when you begin this kind of detox, something unexpected happens — withdrawal.
Not just spiritual withdrawal, but physical. You may feel it in your body — the ache, the heaviness, the pull. Because when you’ve spent years attaching yourself to the outer world — the people, the habits, the systems — it’s painful to detach.
It’s the body mourning the illusions it once thought were real.
It’s your soul pulling you back home.
You’ll want to go back to what’s familiar — to the routines, the roles, the relationships that gave you a false sense of comfort. But this time, they won’t fit. The energy will feel off. The taste of what once fed you will no longer satisfy your spirit.
This is the moment where the scripture comes alive:
“Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.”
That kingdom is not out there — it’s within you.
This is the time to seek it. This is the moment of sacred withdrawal — the pulling back from the world, from what you were taught, from religion, from work, from the structures of society, from the illusions of marriage or title or success.
It all begins to fall away.
Because the seeking outside of yourself must end for the truth within to rise.
And yes, it’s not easy.
It’s one of the hardest things you will ever do — especially the older you get, and the more you’ve consumed from the world. But every tremor, every moment of discomfort, every ounce of pain is a sign that your spirit is detaching from false power and realigning with divine truth.
During this moment, fasting does help.
Prayer does help.
They help a lot.
Fasting empties you of the world’s noise so your spirit can hear the divine whisper again.
Prayer opens a channel of clarity, guidance, and peace — a reminder that you are never alone in this process.
This is the detox of duality — where strength meets surrender, where pain transforms into wisdom, and where endings open the door to your true self.
In the end, this is the only detox that truly liberates you.
When you release what is not yours, when you stop reaching outward and begin listening inward, you’ll discover that you were never empty — just disconnected from your own light.
So yes, let’s talk about detoxing — the kind that purifies not your body, but your being.
The kind that awakens you from illusion and brings you home to yourself.
