DEAR MY INNER CHILD

I will always stand by your side.
Though I walked through the valley of the shadow of death,
I came out alive—
But more than that, I came out wise.
I’ve seen the dark whisper promises it can’t keep,
Felt the weight of silence, heard secrets creep.
I learned that love isn’t loud, it doesn’t beg or chase,
It stands firm in truth, it knows its place.
I’ve been bent by storms, but I did not break,
Every scar a lesson I was meant to take.
What tried to bury me only taught me how to rise,
With clearer vision and sharpened eyes.
I know when to hold, and I know when to leave,
When to stand in knowing, when not to grieve.
I protect my spirit, I guard my flame,
I no longer bleed just to prove my name.
So if I stand beside you, know it’s by choice,
Not fear, not lack, not a borrowed voice.
I stand in truth, in balance, in light,
With a heart that’s steady and a soul upright.
I will always stand by your side—
Not lost, not blind, not easily swayed.
I walked through death and came back whole,
With wisdom etched deep into my soul.
