Consequences Has Come

~ Raquel J V McKenzie

When webs of deceit are neatly spun,

To hide the pain of what was done.

Painting me as insane, all alone,

Slandered to silence my groans.

Though memories fade and disappear,

My body holds the truth dear.

The universe demands honesty,

While lies protect the guilty.

As consequences slowly creep,

Doubt clouds the truth so deep.

Long ago, a falsehood spun,

Branding me as the tainted one.

Karma's wheel begins to turn,

Yet only I my story discern.

No ears to hear until too late,

My name tainted by blind hate.

All because of lies that hide,

The truth that festered deep inside.

Innocence lost in shadows dark,

Forever masked by a deceitful mark.
